Our Environmental Responsibility
At Woodlands we are aware of our environmental responsibility to Windermere and the Lake District. We are situated in the heart of one of the most beautiful National Parks in England and are therefore committed to protecting the area and establishing good environmental practice that will ensure the future of this spectacular region.
Woodlands supports the Tourism and Conservation Partnership and voluntary donation boxes can be found in reception. All contributions will go towards projects such as footpath conservation and the protection of the Red Squirrel.
We are committed to the responsible use of energy, water and waste. Woodlands currently hold a CBEN Bronze Award for good environmental practice and we will strive for continual improvement in our overall environmental practice.
Visit Woodlands in Windermere by Virgin Mainline Trains and we will even collect you and your bags from Windermere station, or be even greener and bring your mountain bikes with you!
Travelling by train from London to Windermere will restrict your CO2 emissions to just 0.07 tonnes. Compare this with 2 return flights from Manchester to Malaga and your CO2 emissions will increase to 1.12 tonnes.
We are happy to help with itineraries to make the most of the public transport on offer in the Lake District, whether by boat or bus!
