About Woodlands

Woodlands is ideally located in Windermere for visiting the many attractions in the Lake District.

Just a short walk to Bowness and a host of activities await on Lake Windermere where you can also take a trip on a Windermere steamboat and visit the Steamboat Museum. The World of Beatrix Potter is a popular visitor attraction in the Lakes and a vehicle ferry will take you across Lake Windermere to the famous writer's home at Near Sawrey.

Environmental Responsiblity

Woodlands is well aware of our responsibility to the sensitive environment of the Lake District. Visit our environment page for details of how we're making steps to minimise our environmental impact.

While we don't allow dogs at Woodlands, we can recommend Grassgarth Kennels (www.kendalkennels.co.uk) and Tarnside Cattery (www.kendalcattery.co.uk) for the benefit of our guests and their pets.

Guests can have their pets looked after for the whole duration of their stay or just over night on a day to day basis. This is a very flexible 'Doggy Day Care' facility which means that guests can drop their pet off each day or at the end of the day and collect it again in the morning or whenever required to suit.

Visit the websites for more information and to make a booking.
